Grow Tents

Grow Tents

Gardening indoors may be a reasonable solution where climates are extreme, or in certain seasons in temperate climates. Green growing things, though, require certain environmental conditions. If a dedicated space like a greenhouse or solarium is available these requirements can be met with ease and the plants will flourish. However, this is quite an expensive solution. If the plants are grown for sale it may price them out of the market. On the other hand, plants are sometimes expected to share space with people. The optimal conditions for plants and for humans are very different. For instance, the high humidity that many plants require can make people miserable. There is a way though to cultivate plants and gardens in human occupied structures and keep both comfortable. That solution is with grow tents.

These grow room tents are just that, tents. Usually its fabric stretched over a steel frame. Its not just any fabric though. These are dark canvas on the outside with a white powder coating on the inside for light control. Some units come equipped with programmable humidity and temperature controls, a light and a ventilation system to allow growers to the conditions inside to suit the preferences of any plant. The double-seamed zippered closures isolate the interior environment. The units come in a variety of sizes to suit any need. They’re great for sprouting of seeds. You can use them for isolation of plants. Of course a good use is for production of blooms. Often they are used for cloning purposes. Such a tent can fit almost anywhere. Setup in the garage, closet, loft, basement, or any other available space in any home.

How to Raise Plants in a Grow Tent

Plants, of course, get their nourishment through their roots. The plant materials in some such structures are rooted in the same medium as other plants: potting soil, or vermiculite, or whatever is appropriate for the specific plant, with appropriate additions of fertilizer if required. However, there are hydroponic grow tents designed to support them in a sterile substrate. Nutrients are supplied by the same sort of circulating hydroponic fluid used in large greenhouses. To use these in any application will depend on what is being cultivated and their stage of growth. Also the resources available to the grower’s operation are a factor.

How a Grow Tent Fits Into a Home

Grow tents are light proof and waterproof, shielding humans from the environmental factors most likely to disturb them. The air inside may either circulate through a filter or be removed through duct work and routed to the outside of the home. Either method will keep any offensive smells away from people, and the optional silencers will damp the sound of the fans to prevent audible disturbances. A properly maintained grow tent located out of the traffic pattern need not ever impinge on the activities of the people living in the home.

Growing plants requiring shelter is a challenge, but cheap grow tents can provide a cost effective solution. For a functional yet unobtrusive high tech system, consider installing grow tents. They can give a growing operation a whole new flexibility leading to new levels of profitability.
